Reward and emotion: an affective neuroscience approach

Pleasure and reward are central for motivation, learning, feeling allostasis. Although is without any doubt an affective phenomenon, there no consensus concerning its relationship with emotion. In this mini-review we discuss conceptual issue both from the perspective of theories emotion as well human systems neuroimaging. We first describe how process can be understood dissected intertwined process, in particular light appraisal theories, then different facets studied using neuroimaging neurostimulation techniques. conclude that future work needs to focus on mapping similarities differences across stimuli mechanisms involved processing emotional processing, propose integrative sciences approach would provide means studying nature reward.
